Drawings record an artist’s ideas, map a project’s genesis, and even preserve broad patterns of creative exchange. By the 16th century, they had assumed a central role in artistic practice and theory. At this event, Mary Vaccaro, associate professor of art and art history, will survey the use and exchange of drawings in Renaissance art, particularly among draftsmen in Parma, Italy, Dr. Vaccaro received the Outstanding Research Achievement or Creative Accomplishment Award in 2009 and has lectured at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and others.
