Dr. Michael K. Moore

Michael K. Moore, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Political Science, Senior Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Washburn University of Topeka and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska. His research interests include congressional and legislative politics, research methods, political participation and behavior, American politics, and the policy making process. He also is interested in researching indigent criminal defense issues. In July of 2012 Moore received the Michael K. Moore Award for Research and Writing in the Area of Indigent Defense. This award was created to recognize 15 years of service on the Committee on Legal Services to the Poor in Criminal Matters, during which he worked without compensation to produce pivotal research and writing that helped provide low-income residents in Texas with proper legal representation.
